The local Sisters branch of the Deschutes Public Library often supports many of the SPTC programs and projects happening within Sisters Elementary School.

The Kids section of their website (available here) offers homework support and other informational tools for children and families.

Paige Bentley-Flannery, Community Librarian, is also putting together Book Recommendations for our SPTC Newsletter.  (If you haven't signed up yet for our newsletter, do so here!)

Sisters Science Club

The Sisters Science Club volunteers within each of the Sisters Schools to ensure Science and Math opportunities are available for all students.

Members of the Science Club often volunteer with SPTC events through Family STEM Night and Elementary School student opportunities at the Sisters Science Fair.

Check out their website (here) and see how you can learn more about the Science Club.

Studio to School

Since 2003, Sisters Folk Festival, Inc. has helped shape Sisters School District students’ artistic selves through the festival’s community outreach arm, the Americana Project. Over the past few years, they stepped up their commitment with funds from an Oregon Community Foundation grant to further the arts in schools.

The five-year grant is part of OCF’s statewide arts education initiative, Studio to School (learn more here). Through the program, the OCF seeks to support, collaborative projects between schools and community arts organizations to design and deliver sustainable arts education opportunities that have the potential for replication.

The Studio to School program helps fund visual arts and music programming at Sisters Elementary School along with Artist in Residencies throughout each year.
